CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) — There are surveillance cameras all around the PATCO stations, but these criminals didn’t care. They walked right through the station carrying a stolen, wide screen TV and a 30-pack of beer.

For most of us, public transportation is a way to get to work, but for these two crooks, they used PATCO as there own personal get-a-way train.

At around 11:30 a.m. one can be seen carrying the stolen 40-inch wide screen TV wrapped in a blanket, while the other carried a stolen 30 pack of beer.

Over the phone CBS3’s Todd Quinones spoke to the homeowner who did not want to be identified. He says the thieves also stole jewelry and a laptop computer.

“They took the sheets off. Filled the sheets and walked down the street like they had Santa Claus bags,” he said.

Cherry Hill Police tell Eyewitness News the men walked right through the Ashland patco station and got off in Camden.

“My guess would be they are trading it up for drugs in the city. They are selling it real quick to get some drugs in the city,” Lt. William Kushina said.

The thieves apparently walked a few block down Burnt Mill Road and randomly picked out a house where no one was home.

“They are pretty brazen about it. They are walking right through the concourse carrying these electronics, and the 30 pack of beer stands right out too,” Lt. Kushina said.

On its facebook page, the Cherry Hill Police Department posted the surveillance pictures and some details surrounding the July 5th break-in which left the homeowner baffled

“Can you imagine coming home to everything being dumped on floors? Your bedroom, your closet emptied out,” he said.

The thieves broke in the back of the home by smashing a window. Police believe the suspects could be responsible for similar crimes in Vorhees.
